About this tour

This six-day lodge safari, conducted in a custom safari jeep with a pop-up roof, is accompanied by an experienced driver-guide and a private chef. The journey takes you through Tanzania’s famed Northern Circuit parks, offering a rich and immersive wildlife experience.

Your adventure includes three days in the Serengeti, the country’s largest and most iconic park, world-renowned for the Great Migration of over a million wildebeest alongside hundreds of thousands of zebras. The Ngorongoro Crater, often considered the highlight of any safari, awaits with its breathtaking landscapes and unparalleled density of wildlife on the crater floor. Tarangire National Park, sometimes called a smaller Serengeti, impresses with its massive elephant herds and ancient baobab trees. Finally, Lake Manyara provides a different charm with its pink-hued flamingos, diverse birdlife, and the chance—though rare—to spot its famous tree-climbing lions.

With ample time in each park to explore, observe, and relax, this tour is ideal for passionate wildlife enthusiasts seeking an unforgettable African safari experience.

You will be picked up from your hotel, and after meeting your guide and chef, we set off on a 2-hour drive to Tarangire National Park, renowned for its varied landscapes and iconic baobab trees. Tarangire is also home to the largest elephant population in Tanzania, offering exceptional opportunities to observe these magnificent creatures and their family interactions. The park also hosts a rich variety of wildlife, from herbivores such as giraffes, zebras, and wildebeests to elusive predators including lions, cheetahs, and leopards.

We’ll enjoy a game drive through the park, following areas with recent wildlife sightings. Around midday, we’ll stop at the scenic Tarangire River picnic site for lunch, where you can relax with a beautiful view of the river and its wildlife. Keep an eye out for playful monkeys and baboons that may try to sneak closer, but there’s no need for concern.

After lunch, we continue our game drive before exiting the park around 4:30 pm. From there, we head to your lodge in Mto wa Mbu for the night.

Stop 2: Maasai Village (Optional)
You may also choose to visit a Maasai village to experience the culture of this famous tribe. Historically, Maasai warriors earned respect by confronting lions and drinking raw animal blood—though today, such traditions are largely in the past (except the practice of drinking blood in certain ceremonies). This visit offers a chance to learn about their unique lifestyle and heritage.
Duration: 20–45 minutes

Serengeti National Park
Covering 14,750 square kilometers (5,700 sq mi), the Serengeti is world-renowned for its incredible wildebeest and zebra migration, with over 1.5 million wildebeest and 250,000 zebras moving in unison for survival. Our destination will be the Seronera area, located in the heart of the park.

You will arrive in the late afternoon. After lunch, enjoy a game drive in the Seronera region until evening, with a chance to witness a predator hunt or a fresh kill. End the day by experiencing a magical Serengeti sunset before heading to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

On the final day of your Tanzania safari, after breakfast and a picnic lunch, you will take a short drive to the crater’s descending gate and make your way down the 650-meter deep crater floor for a half-day game drive. If lucky, you may spot a rhinoceros, though the crater is home to numerous resident animals due to its permanent water sources, allowing many species to stay year-round while still free to move in and out. After lunch, ascend back to the crater rim and continue the drive to Mto Wa Mbu for dinner and an overnight stay.
