About this tour

This six-day camping safari (in a custom safari jeep with a pop-up roof) is led by a professional guide/driver and accompanied by a chef. The tour explores the famous northern circuit parks, with three days spent in the Serengeti—renowned as the largest park and home to over a million wildebeest migrating alongside 250,000 zebras. The Ngorongoro Crater is another highlight, offering stunning landscapes, a surreal view of the crater, and excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing on the crater floor.

Tarangire, often called a smaller version of the Serengeti, is best known for its large elephant population. The journey ends at Lake Manyara, famous for its vibrant flocks of flamingos and its rare tree-climbing lions. This safari provides ample time in the parks for both wildlife viewing and relaxation, making it ideal for anyone passionate about exploring animals.

Note: On this tour, you will stay camping during the safari

You will be picked up from your hotel and after meeting the guide and chef, drive to Tarangire National Park (about 2 hours). The park is well known for its varied landscape, the abundance of ancient baobab trees, and the largest concentration of elephants in the country, offering great opportunities to watch elephant family interactions. A game drive will follow, focusing on reported animal sightings. Predators such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards are harder to spot, while herbivores like giraffes, wildebeest, and zebras are commonly seen.

Later, you will stop at the Tarangire River picnic site to enjoy lunch with scenic views of the river and wildlife. Small monkeys and baboons may approach, but they pose no real concern.

After lunch, continue with the game drive and exit the park around 4:30 pm. The day will end with a drive to your lodge in Mto Wa Mbu for accommodation.

Stop At: Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Arusha Region
There will be an optional visit to a Maasai village, where you can explore the culture of the Maasai tribe. Traditionally, they were known for chasing lions from their kills, hunting lions to be considered warriors, and drinking raw animal blood. While most of these traditions are now in the past (except for blood drinking), the visit provides a chance to learn more about their culture.
Duration: 20–45 minutes

Serengeti National Park
The Serengeti covers 14,750 square kilometers (5,700 sq mi) and is world-famous for the wildebeest and zebra migration (over 1.5 million wildebeest and 250,000 zebras) that depend on each other for survival. The focus of your visit will be the Seronera area (the center of the Serengeti).

You will arrive in the late afternoon and, after lunch, head out for a game drive in Seronera until late evening. Here you can witness the Serengeti sunset and may be lucky to spot predators hunting or feeding. Later, you will proceed to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
