Upon arrival in Arusha from Zanzibar, you will be met and transferred to Tarangire for an exciting safari experience. Tarangire National Park is home to large herds of elephants roaming the plains, lions, and zebras adding to the wildlife spectacle. During the dry season, the park hosts the largest elephant population in the world, making it a must-visit destination.

Tarangire is also famous for its impressive baobab trees, tall termite mounds, and wide grassy savannahs with peaceful swamps. You will spend the full day exploring the park, concluding around 5:00 p.m. before heading to your lodge.

Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater

After an early breakfast, embark on an 8-hour journey to the Ngorongoro Crater, one of the world’s most remarkable natural wonders. This massive, unbroken caldera was created when a volcano collapsed around three million years ago.

The crater hosts Africa’s highest concentration of large wildlife, including the Big Five and numerous predators. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site, the area offers a unique wildlife experience. As you descend into the crater, you will encounter a vast landscape teeming with animals. The crater walls rise 400 to 610 meters above the floor, which spans 264 square kilometers with a diameter of 19 kilometers. In the afternoon, continue back to Arusha for an overnight stay in preparation for the next day’s adventures.

Optional Maasai Boma Visit: Experience traditional Maasai culture by visiting a Maasai boma. Participate in local dances, explore the village, and shop for souvenirs at the market. These activities come with an additional cost—check with your safari guide for details.

Day 3: Materuni Waterfalls, Coffee Tour to Zanzibar

Materuni Waterfall is a stunning natural attraction located in northern Tanzania near Moshi. Nestled on the lush slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro, this serene waterfall offers a peaceful escape from the city and a cool respite from the heat. Its clear waters cascade 70 meters down a cliff, surrounded by dense greenery and lively birdlife, creating a truly breathtaking scene.

Visitors can enjoy a refreshing swim in the natural pools. The day includes activities such as swimming at the waterfall, taking a gentle hike along Mount Kilimanjaro’s foothills, tasting local cuisine, and experiencing traditional dance and music. After a full day of adventure, transportation will be provided to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward flight to Zanzibar.
